Well that's that then

So the football season for Watford is now over and I have to say I would have taken 14th place at the beginning of the season with both hand and feet !! For the size of squad and the number of youngsters we have had to play it has been fantastic. I take my hat off to Malky and the team and especially to Super Danny Graham who finished the season as the leading scorer for the division, a top effort and I would be very surprised if he was still in a Watford shirt come September :-(

Now that Ellington and Saddlers' silly wages are nearly at an end we can hopefully add three or four players to the squad for next season. A left back or two has got to be top of the wish list!! The close season will be very interesting this year with the takeover taken place and their plans for the future hopefully coming out so we the fans know what to expect. I am glad the club will be delisted from the AIM stock market as I think that was an added cost that was unnecessary and we can now finally get on with taking this great club forward.
So now we move on to the summer sports. I watched the highlights of the Turkish grand prix last night and its getting boring seeing Vettel win every race. No one can seem to touch him at the moment and it getting a bit boring however the races are not. I can't remember more overtaking in one race since the Mansell Senna Prost days and for that the race was superb we just need someone to challenge Vettel and we'll have a great season. However you can't knock Vettel he hasn't really put a foot wrong all season and I think he would have won in China had his team made the right calls.

I also watching the world super bikes highlights yesterday and it was great to see Eugene Laverty win both races. That puts him on the edge of the leaders in the championship. The way he over took Melandri on the last corner to win the second race was amazing and you just knew what he was going to do with a couple of laps left.
I haven't really followed much of the cricket so far, however, I did read that England now have 3 captains !! That is crazy if you ask me but it is a good stepping stone for Cook and Broad for the future. We shall see what happens this season I guess to make a judgement on how successful the move is.

Anyway I must get on

Danny
